We’re going to take a step away from our normal Wednesday post this week to remember the events of this day.
Early in the morning on December 7, 1941, the United States naval base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, was bombarded by Japanese warplanes. The bombing lasted about two hours. Twenty US naval vessels and 200 airplanes were destroyed. Two-thousand servicemen were killed and one-thousand were wounded.
The bombing was the catalyst for the United States’ entry into World War II, a war that was fought on multiple fronts (European and Pacific, just to name the two major ones).
We are always proud to honor veterans: young and old, male and female, in wartime and in peacetime. Thank you for your sacrifices.
